We are writing to inform you of the recent departure of Dr. Yutaka Niihara, our founder and former CEO, from our company. Dr. Niihara has decided to pursue other opportunities and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
To ensure a smooth transition, the company’s board of directors has appointed Willis Lee and George Sekulich as Co-Presidents of Emmaus Life Sciences. They will jointly oversee the strategic direction and operations of the company, while reporting to the Board. Willis Lee has been serving as our Chief Operating Officer since 2011 and has served as a board member for many years. George Sekulich has been serving as our SVP of Global Commercialization since 2017 and has been closely involved in growing Endari sales in the Middle East and in the U.S.
